Using glass as a medium for
investigation and self-expression, Deirdre explores the many traditions that
affect our daily lives encompassing cultural, historical and personal
traditions. Interested in the survival and discontinuation of traditions in a
contemporary world and the individual act of continuing and
remembering these fragile traditions is what drives her.

2012 ‘IN PROGRESS’ PRIVATE
RESIDENCE, CO. WEXFORD, IRELAND
I have enthusiastically
accepted a commission to design two internal windows for a private residence in
Co. Wexford. Discussions with the client have led me to develop two stained
glass designs inspired by the ‘green fingered’ lifestyle and ethos of the
clients and their home. After presenting the designs to the client, the project
will progress to the next stage of planning and fabrication.
